Road-rage arrest

On Friday, Dec. 15, at about 13:30 hours, officers were dispatched to Madison Street at 13th Street in reference to a road-rage incident.

The caller stated that the driver of a northbound blue Chevrolet truck was waving a rifle out the window. Officers were able to locate the truck near the entrance to Walmart and conducted a felony traffic stop. The driver, a 31-year-old male from Granby, was detained without incident. Officers recovered a rifle from the truck.

The driver was taken into custody on four charges:

• Driving while revoked

• Open container of alcoholic beverage

• Driving while intoxicated – persistent offender

• Unlawful possession of a firearm

The driver’s name was withheld pending formal charges. All persons are assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.


Friday, Dec. 1

15:00 – Officers were dispatched to Walmart in reference to a trespass in progress. One 52-year-old male was taken into custody.

16:29 – Officers were dispatched to Walmart for shoplifting. One male was arrested for shoplifting.

20:28 – I was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting in progress. A 42-year-old male was arrested for shoplifting and trespassing.

Saturday, Dec. 2

03:12 – An officer was dispatched to Mineral and Cedar streets for a vehicle fire.

10:04 – An officer was dispatched to Atwoods in reference to a past-tense theft.

12:15 – I was dispatched to the 500 block of S. Ball St. for a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was later found and returned home.

15:32 – An officer was dispatched to WCPD in reference to property damage that occurred at Walmart.

17:07 – Officers were dispatched to 210 N. Oronogo St. for a disturbance. One 60-year-old male was taken into custody for Seneca warrants and a report was completed.

20:23 – An officer was dispatched to an abandoned bike at the corner of Aylor and Roane streets. The bike was placed into found property.

Sunday, Dec. 3

00:08 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at MacArthur and College streets in reference to multiple violations. The 62-year-old male driver was cited for multiple traffic violations and was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

01:00 – An officer conducted a car stop in the area of MacArthur Drive and Jefferson Street. One male was arrested for DWI.

03:34 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at MacArthur Drive and Madison Street in reference to a lane violation. A 46-year-old male driver was cited and arrested for improper lane use, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while intoxicated.

13:10 – Officers were dispatched to Madison and 13th streets for a two-vehicle, injury crash.

13:57 – An officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a past-tense theft.

14:23 – Officers responded to 2200 S. Hall St. for a motor vehicle crash.

15:06 – I conducted a traffic stop on Tracy near Main streets. The driver was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant.

19:43 – Officers were dispatched to Walmart in reference to a shoplifter. A 34-year-old male was arrested for trespassing and shoplifting.

20:50 – I was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a male in the store covered in blood. It was found that he had been involved in an assault at 224 S. Ball St.

Monday, Dec. 4

11:16 – An officer was dispatched to the WCPD lobby in reference to an item originally located in King Jack Park.

11:18 – I was dispatched to WCPD for a fraud which occurred at 802 S. Jefferson St.

11:37 – An officer was dispatched to WCPD in reference to a missing juvenile who had last been seen at 14th St. and Gold Dust Drive.

14:40 – I was dispatched to 1601-298 S. Ellis St. for drug activity. Items where collected.

15:49 – A smart watch was turned in at the WCPD lobby by a local resident. She reported finding it in the roadway near Ball and Wood streets.

16:11 – I received a call for service at North Main Street and Carl Junction Road in reference to small children playing near the road without adult supervision.

18:44 – I was dispatched to WCPD for property damage/vandalism that had occurred at 830 W. Austin St.

20:30 – I was dispatched to the 500 block of S. Ball St. regarding a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was entered into MULES as a missing person.

08:35 – Officers were dispatched to the roundabout in reference to a motor vehicle crash.

Tuesday, Dec. 5

12:58 – Officers were dispatched to 3100 E. Zora St. for a domestic disturbance. The investigation revealed there was an argument involving child custody.

15:43 – I was dispatched to 1848 S. Oronogo St. for reported harassment.

16:19 – I received a call for service at Walmart in reference to a shoplifting in progress. A female was subsequently arrested.

Wednesday, Dec. 6

09:30 – Officers were dispatched to Walmart in reference to a theft in progress. One 58-year-old male was cited for stealing.

12:00 – I took a report of a wallet that was lost around 21:30 on Dec. 5 at Dollar Tree, 610 S. Madison St.

14:00 – Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in progress at Walmart. One male was arrested.

15:10 – Officers were dispatched to West Daugherty and East streets for a two-vehicle, non-injury crash.

17:07 – Officers were dispatched to 14th and Madison streets for a three-vehicle, non-injury accident, with one party leaving the scene.

17:17 – An officer was dispatched to MacArthur Drive and Ball Street in reference to a three-vehicle, injury, motor vehicle crash. A 23-year-old female was issued a citation for following too closely.

18:03 – Officers were dispatched to 4503-C E. Zora street in reference to a motorcycle that had been stolen.

20:43 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at Madison Street and Broadway for failing to use headlights. The 28-year-old female driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Thursday, Dec. 7

21:15 – An officer attempted to take a male into custody at Casey’s, 337 S. Main St., and he fled in a vehicle. He was arrested for felony fleeing and property damage.

22:39 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at Stadium Drive and North Main Street for failing to dim headlights. The 47-year-old female driver was citied and arrested for no driver’s license, no insurance, failure to register a motor vehicle, and an Oronogo warrant.

Friday, Dec. 8

11:12 – I was dispatched to 821 W. 13th St. for a lost item, which was later found.

15:37 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at Enterprise and Progress drives for a speeding violation.  The 27-year-old male driver was cited and arrested for exceeding the posted speed limit, no insurance, and no drivers license.

16:52 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at MacArthur Drive and East Street for a registration violation. The 38-year-old male was citied and arrested for failure to register a motor vehicle, possession of an open container of alcohol, and driving while intoxicated.

22:47 – I observed a vehicle commit several traffic violations and made a traffic stop. The 52-year-old female was arrested for DWI and child endangerment.

Saturday, Dec. 9

01:20 – I made a traffic stop near Seventh and Oakland streets for multiple violations. One adult male was arrested for driving while suspended and another one was arrested for resisting arrest.

08:48 – Officers were dispatched to a non-injury crash at Broadway and Oronogo Street.  As a result a crash report was completed.

11:21 – I was dispatched to Walmart for shoplifting in progress. The subject was cited and items were returned to Walmart.

16:21 – I was notified of a male walking north on Hall Street from Zora Street who has Webb City warrants. The male was located, the warrants were confirmed, and the male was taken into custody.
