Webb City sweeps Southern Media Showcase

Webb City High School media production students won the sweepstakes award Wednesday, April 15, at the Media Showcase competition hosted by Missouri Southern State University.

Winning sweepstakes meant Webb City won more awards (26) than any of the other 12 schools, which came from the Springfield area, southwest Missouri and southeast Kansas.

“We also submitted multiple entries into all 19 categories, which is quite an accomplishment as well,” says Webb City instructor Bruce Vonder Haar. “Several other students had entries and didn’t win a medal but were very deserving nevertheless.”

Webb City students gather after winning 26 awards and the sweepstakes prize Wednesday, April 15, at the Media Showcase at MSSU. Not all winners were unable to attend.
