The third annual Wreaths Across America event at Mt. Hope Cemetery will be held Saturday.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the placing of wreaths at all of the 1,200 graves of veterans in the cemetery.
Volunteers will place the live wreaths on shepherd hooks donated by Charlie 22 Outdoors and then say the each veteran’s name aloud.
Those involved include the Webb City and Carl Junction JROTC cadets, Scouts from Troop 25, and Webb City High School students.
The wreaths have been purchased with donations raised through a campaign conducted by Susie Crutcher all three years.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
