Arvest continues its Million Meals campaign for 16th year

Arvest Bank has officially launched the 16th year of its annual Million Meals campaign, a two-month effort to raise awareness and funds to fight hunger in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas.

Money raised through May 31 will support over 70 food partners, including Webb City CARES and Carl Junction Bright Futures. Every dollar donated goes directly to these organizations and provides up to five meals for those in need. The Million Meals campaign helps local food pantries meet the expected increase in need during the summer months, when many children don’t have access to free school meals.

Missouri is tied for 17th in the nation for food insecurity, with 13% of households reporting they lacked the resources to provide enough food to feed their families, according to the latest data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Across the U.S., 18% of households with children under 18 experienced food insecurity in 2024, and 11% had elderly individuals living alone.

Since 2011, the initiative has helped provide more than 28 million meals and collected more than $5.1 million in donations. Last year, the campaign helped provide a record 3.08 million meals for hungry families and individuals.

State websites redesigned

The Missouri Office of Administration has announced a series of updates to its websites, mo.gov and my.mo.gov with the purpose of making it easier for Missourians to find exactly what they need.

As part the effort to enhance the user experience, the state has introduced AskMO, an AI-powered guide available 24/7 as a part of the redesigned website. AskMO is designed to help visitors skip the search and get straight to the information they require.
