Proposed tax levy for Webb City stays put

Property taxes for Webb Citians won’t be going up, if the proposed 2026 levy is approved by the Webb City Council.

Finance Director Natasha Gossett has posted a public hearing notice for the proposed levy to be held during the City Council’s second regular meeting of the month, at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24.

The total levy would remain the same, at $0.6670 per $100 assessed valuation.

At that rate, it’s anticipated the city’s annual revenue from the property tax would increase by $11,354 from $1,059,012 to $1,070,366. Of that, $9,206 (81%) would be from new construction and $2,148 would be attributed to reassessment.

New construction has increased 85% from $744,810 in 2025 to $1,380,200 in 2026.
