Melinda Benham, choral director at Webb City High School, announces that Caitlin Norton and Maddox Wood have been selected for the Missouri All-State Honor Choir.

Three other students, Gavin Barnes, Addison Buster and Angel Fuentes, received honorable mention.

Sacred Heart Turkey Dinner

Members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Webb City will host their 76th Annual Turkey Dinner and Silent Auction on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 1 and 2.

The dinner, beginning at 11 a.m. each day, will include turkey, dressing and all the fixings for just $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Dine-in and carryout will both be available.

Hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

“After hosting this event for over 75 years, we know how to please our guests – with great food and great fellowship!” says parishioner Emily Elwell.

Pancake fundraiser for Oronogo Cemetery

The Oronogo Cemetery Association will hold a pancake fundraiser from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

It will be held at the Oronogo Church on the Hill, 176 S. Fourth St., Oronogo.

Alpha Delta Kappa

ADK Upsilon met Oct. 21 at the Lion Cub Academy in Joplin. The meeting was led by Sarah Llanes, with 13 members present. Hostesses  were Dyanne Dillion, Tawnee Parker and Nikki Tappana.

Members brought books for the Little BLue Bookshelf and turned in a list of activities for ADK month.

Penny Hoenshell presented a program on fraternal education.

Dorothy Pierson was presented a Violet Sister certificate for being a 10-year member.

The next meeting will be on Nov. 18 at Mi Torito’s in Webb City. A representative from Solace House of the Ozarks will be presenting.

Hostesses will be Shelley Kneeland, Vera Ellison and Paula  Stewart.
