Candidate filing period begins Tuesday

Candidates can file to be on the April 8, 2025, general election ballot beginning Tuesday, Dec. 10 through Tuesday, Dec. 31.

R-7 School Board

Three seats are open on the Webb City R-7 School Board. Two of the seats are held by Stephen Crane and Dan McGrew, whose current three-year terms will end after the election.

The third term is for one year (insead of three) to complete the term vacated when Jeanne Newby resigned.

Other current board members are: David Collard and William Roderique (last elected in 2021), and Erin Taylor (first-time elected in 2024) and Jason Woodmansee (last elected in 2024).

Webb City

Four Webb City Council seats are open.

The two-year terms ending are those of Andy Queen (1st Ward), Gina Monson (2nd Ward), Brad Baker (3rd Ward) and Debbie Darby (4th Ward).

Council members with a year left on their terms are: Ray Edwards (1st Ward), Alisa Barroeta (2nd Ward), Jerry Fisher (3rd Ward) and Jim Dawson (4th Ward).

Lynn Ragsdale is the mayor.

Carterville

Four two-year terms and one unfinished term are open on the Carterville City Council.

Completing regular two-year terms are: Warren Myers (1st Ward), Judy Martin (2nd Ward), Justin Lawson (3rd Ward) and Brenda Cupp (4th Ward).

Cody Franks is finishing an uncompleted term in the 3rd Ward.

Council members who will be midway through their terms in April are: Devin Keeling (1st Ward), Jason Meyer (2nd Ward) and Duane Cupp (4th Ward).

Alan Griffin is the mayor.

Oronogo

Three of the six seats on the Oronogo Board of Aldermen are open.

Current board members whose terms are expiring are: Rick Seeley (1st Ward), Michael Renberg (2nd Ward) and Darrell Orender (3rd Ward).

Those with a year left are: Linda Lacey (1st Ward), Jason Guild (2nd Ward) and Kima Burnett (3rd Ward).

Mayor Charles Wilkins was reelected in 2023.
