Webb City police initiate recovery and arrest in connection with stolen Jeep 

On Monday, July 7, 2025, at about 10:55 hours, officers with the Webb City Police Department were dispatched to the area of 988 E. Fountain Road (4 tenths of a mile east of Hall Street) in reference to a stolen vehicle.

The caller was tracking the location of the stolen vehicle through a cellular telephone application. Officers located a grey 2023 Jeep Cherokee in a field off the roadway occupied by an unknown white male.

As officers approached, the Jeep was driven at a high rate of speed toward them, circled around through the field, drove toward the officers again, then drove through fields and trees before exiting onto Fountain Road just east of Hall Street.

Webb City Police Officers, along with Jasper County Deputies and Joplin Police Officers, pursued the stolen Jeep through Webb City and into Joplin, where the pursuit ended in the Lowes parking lot at 2600 S. Range Line Road in Joplin.

The driver, a 35-year-old Joplin male, was transported to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Jail in Carthage, where he is was held pending the filing of formal charges.

The following charges were sent to the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office:

    • Felony tampering with a motor vehicle – first degree {599.080}
    • Felony assault of a law enforcement officer – second degree (x3) {565.052}
    • Felony resisting arrest by flight {575.150}
    • Felony trafficking a controlled substance (fentanyl) {579.068}
    • Felony possession of drug paraphernalia {579.074}
    • Felony possession of stolen property (credit card) {571.130}
    • Felony possession of an illegal weapon {571.020}
    • Felony property damage (x2) {569.100}
    • Multiple traffic violations.

Monday, May 12

08:37 – Officers were dispatched to the area of 108 N. Ash St. for a report of property damage. Charges for one male have been forwarded to the Jasper County Prosecutor.

Sunday, May 25

17:50 – An officer contacted a suspicious vehicle at Hall Street Storage, 25 S. Hall St. Weeks later, it was discovered that officers had unknowingly interrupted a burglary of a storage unit at that time, and therefore on June 17 probable cause was developed for burglary on two adult suspects. Information was forwarded to the Jasper County Prosecutor.

Monday, June 2

23:16 – Officers were dispatched to 12th and Madison streets for a careless and imprudent driver. One female was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant out of Webb City.

Tuesday, June 3

22:57 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at MacArthur Drive and Oakland Street. One male was taken into custody for driving while revoked.

Wednesday, June 4

11:19 – Officers were dispatched to 2549 S. Hall St. for a burglary that had occurred overnight.

Thursday, June 5

19:27 – Officers were dispatched to a non-injury crash at Aylor Street and Colonial Drive. One female was taken into custody for driving while revoked.

Friday, June 6

22:33 – Officers were dispatched to 525 N. Devon St. in reference to 2nd degree burglary.

Saturday, June 7

18:42 – Officers were dispatched to Main and Daugherty streets in reference to a non-injury motor-vehicle accident.

Sunday, June 8

10:55 – I responded to a call about a motor vehicle accident at Walmart.

12:10 – An officer made a traffic stop on a gray Mazda at 475 S. Madison St. for expired tags. The driver, operating the vehicle while suspended, was taken into custody.

13:25 – I conducted a traffic stop at Ware and Centennial streets. The vehicle was searched and drugs were located. A juvenile was released to parents pending charges.

19:25 – An officer responded to 1811 S. Oronogo St. for a theft of property.

Monday, June 9

8:30 – I was asked to sit in on an interview at the Children’s Center at in reference to a past-tense sexual case that involved a juvenile female. The alleged incident was said to have taken place in the state of Kansas, but the juvenile is living in Webb City at this time. This would be a departmental assist.

10:56 – An officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of S. Madison St. for an injury motor vehicle crash.

12:12 – I was dispatched to 701 N. Liberty St. for a past-tense violation of an adult protection order.

21:28 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at Enterprise Avenue and Hall Street for expired plates. A 20-year-old male was arrested for driving while revoked.

21:43 – On 06-09-2025 at approximately 2143 hours officers were dispatched to Macarthur and East for a disabled vehicle. As a result a 21-year-old was arrested for DWI.

22:46 – Officers responded to a threats call at 310 N. Webb St.

Tuesday, June 10

10:09 – I was contacted at WCPD for a past-tense possible false report.

13:17 – Officers were dispatched to Walmart reference a shoplifting in progress. A male was taken into custody for several charges.

16:07 – An officer was dispatched to 401 S. Liberty St. for a report of fraud.

16:52 – An officer was dispatched to Walmart for a report of shoplifting in progress.

23:05 – Officers conducted a community check at Hall Street Storage, 25 S. Hall St. A 38-year-old male was taken into custody for active warrants.

23:17 – Officers conducted a traffic stop at Daugherty and East streets for an expired temporary tag. A 32-year-old male was taken into custody on Webb City warrants.

Wednesday, June 11

07:55 – I was patrolling Hall Street Storage, 25 S. Hall St., when I saw two open storage units. One female was taken into custody for trespassing and warrants.

Thursday, June 12

09:25 – I was dispatched to 1901 Philadelphia Drive for a report of fraud.

14:19 – I was dispatched to Walmart for a report of shoplifting. A female was taken into custody for shoplifting and an additional charge of possession of controled substance.

Friday, June 13

10:08 – Officers were dispatched to Atwoods, 220 S. East St., reference a theft in progress. A female was taken into custody.

16:59 – An officer was dispatched to Walmart for a report of shoplifting in progress.

19:33 – I was dispatched to Pennsylvania and Galena streets for a fight in progress. A citation was issued to a 36-year-old male for stealing.

22:06 – Officers were dispatched to 114 S. Main St. in reference to a disturbance. A 24-year-old female was arrested for driving while intoxicated, assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.

23:58 – Officers responded to 701 W. Second St. for a trespass in progress. Information was gathered for trespassing and false impersonation of a law enforcement officer.

04:32 – Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Par Avenue in reference to a possible overdose. A 21-year-old female was transported to the hospital and placed on a 96-hour mental evaluation hold.

Saturday, June 14

07:25 – I was dispatched to 701 N. Liberty St. for a possible violation of an exparte.

21:08 – Officers conducted a traffic stop at East and Daugherty streets for defective equipment. A 31-year-old male was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

23:02 – Officers conducted a traffic stop at Madison and Aylor streets for an unreadable plate. A 33-year-old male was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

03:11 – Officers responded to the 1400 block of Austin Street for a burglary in progress. One 34-year-old female was taken into custody for Diamond and Sarcoxie warrants.

15:50 – I was dispatched to 102 S. Roane St. for theft of a bicycle.

20:30 – I took a report of harassment that had occurred at Dollar General, 1510 S. Madison St.

22:27 – An officer conducted a traffic stop near Fifth Street and Prairie Flower Road. One 47-year-old male was taken into custody for DWI and open container.

Sunday, June 15

01:48 – Officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Main and Fourth streets. One 19-year-old female was taken into custody for minor in possession and zero tolerance.

10:42 – I conducted a traffic stop on Madison Street near Third Street. The driver was cited for various traffic violations and later taken into custody for an outstanding warrant.

19:55 – Officers responded to Walmart for a trespass in progress.

20:53 – An officer observed a male walking in the middle of the road at Main Street and Broadway. The 28-year-old male was arrested for pedestrian violation, failure to ID and resisting arrest.

21:11 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Main and Fourth streets. One 31-year-old female was taken into custody for DWI- combined, child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance, open container and a Jasper County warrant.

Tuesday, June 17

10:00 – An abandoned purse was located in King Jack Park near the splash pad. The purse was taken to the police department and placed into evidence as no owner identification could be found in its contents.

14:08 – I was dispatched to Atwoods, 220 S. East St., for a past-tense report of shoplifting. The subject was identified.

16:16 – An officer was driving south on Madison Street near 14th Street when a past-tense crash was located in the roadway near 16th and Madison streets.

17:12 – Officers were dispatched to Casey’s, 337 S. Main St., for a motor vehicle crash.

18:34 – Officers responded to Walmart for a trespass in progress. One male and one female were arrested for burglary 1st and felony stealing.

Wednesday, June 18

09:06 – An officer was dispatched to the intersection of Prairie Flower Road and Betenbough Way for a report of a non-injury crash.

12:55 – An officer was dispatched to 1326-A W 16th St. for a check well-being.

15:41 – I was dispatched to Sharon Drive and East Street for a check well-being. A 44-year-old woman was arrested on active Webb City and Carterville warrants.

19:57 – Officers drove up to an injury crash at Madison Street MacArthur Drive. A 38-year-old female was transported to the hospital.

21:43 – Officers were dispatched to 324 N. Tom St. in reference to a trespass. A 45-year-old male was cited for trespassing.

Thursday, June 19

09:56 – While on general patrol at Liberty Street and Broadway, I observed an abandoned bicycle. The bicycle was seized and placed into evidence for safe keeping.

21:06 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at Fourth and Main Streets for expired license plates. One male, age 23, was arrested for driving while suspended.

21:10 – Officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Oronogo and MacArthur Drive. As a result, one 27-year-old female was taken into custody for DWI-alcohol.

Friday, June 20

14:08 – An officer was dispatched to 4543 Pool Rd in reference to a theft that occurred at an unknown date or time.

Saturday, June 21

12:51 – I was dispatched to 409 W. Second St. for a report of burglary and theft.

15:20 – An officer conducted a traffic stop near MacArthur Drive and Centennial Street for expired registration. As a result, one 40-year-old male was taken into custody for outstanding warrants and charged with resisting arrest.

15:45 – I received a call for service at Walgreens in reference to shoplifting.
