The American Legion and VFW invite all veterans and their families to enjoy a free breakfast Sunday morning, Nov. 6.
Serving will be from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the organizations’ new building at 900 N. Main St.

New Hope Church of Carl Junction will hold its Lord’s Acre Supper and Auction from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5.
Homemade noodles with chicken, ham, rolls, vegetables, dessert and drink will be served to adults fot $10 and children 12 and under for $5. To-go orders are available.
Auctioneer Cindy Herr will auction off handicrafts, needlework and baked goods beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The church is located at County Road 270 and Kafir Road (2 miles west and 1 mile north from the roundabout at Highways 43 and 96).
The Joplin Association for the Blind and Low Vision Enhancement Center will hold its annual chili and soup fundraiser for lunch and dinner on Thursday, Nov. 10 at its building on Schifferdecker Avenue at Fourth Street.

Also featured will be a silent auction and 50/50 drawing. There will also be pecan halves, pecan pieces, chocolate covered pecans and English walnuts for sale.
Laurie Brower, the Webb City junior high choral director, is welcoming everyone to sing with a community/staff choir during the Dec. 18 Christmas Concert.
The choir will perform a Christmas medley.
There will be four rehearsals, but Brower says attending all of them isn’t required to sing in the concert. “Just come when you can,” she says.

The weather was so nice Tuesday evening that Webb City Farmers Market vendors and sponsors could hold their ‘annual’ Harvest Dinner in a familiar place – their pavilion in King Jack Park, where they welcome customers each Saturday morning. The 2020 and 2021 Harvest Dinners were skipped because of the pandemic.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
